According to the annual RBC Small Business Poll, roughly half of all Canadians consider themselves aspiring entrepreneurs. The reasons they cite for wanting to start their own business include making more money or having greater control over their schedule. But there is one motivation they almost universally share.

The vast majority of current and aspiring entrepreneurs polled – ninety three per cent – said that the reason they want to start a business was so that they could do meaningful work that is aligned with their personal values.
